BlogsKate Upton Lands "SI" Swimsuit Cover a Second Time
The blonde bombshell beat out her rumored opponent Nina Agdal and heats up the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue for the second year in a row.
A familiar, um, face graces this year’s cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. Crazy-hot Kate Upton snagged the coveted spot a second year in a row, joining the ranks of repeat cover models Christie Brinkley, Elle MacPherson, Paulina Porizkova, and Tyra Banks.
The 20-year-old Florida native was photographed for the 50th anniversary edition of the swimsuit issue in icy-cold Antarctica, wearing only a fur-lined parka and some super skimpy bikini bottoms—and that’s about as bundled up as you’ll see her throughout the magazine.
While our hats are off to the great Kate, our bets were actually on Nina Agdal, Sports Illustrated’s 2012 Swimsuit Rookie of the Year. Last weekend we got up close and personal with the Danish hottie at the 2013 Dirty Dutch Model Beach Volleyball Tournament in South Beach, FL. When we arrived, it was rumored that Nina had potentially snagged the coveted cover, but last night's announcement on David Letterman has put those rumors to bed. Maybe next year, Nina.
