Maserati Shoots to Break North Atlantic Record
The Maserati team sets sail from New York City to break the North Atlantic sailing record.
Men's Fitness caught up with Maserati and skipper Giovanni Soldini in New York City's North Cove Marina for a test sail days before the crew set out to break the North Atlantic record from New York to Cape Lizard in the UK. The time to beat, set in 2003 by Robert Miller and the crew of the Mari Cha IV, is six days, 17 hours, 52 minutes, and 39 seconds. Soldini's 18 years of nautical racing include two single-handed world races and more than 30 transoceanics.
