What a Weekend!
The event went off with a bang during Olympia Weekend at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Hundreds of competitors duked it out for the $5,000 grand prize and title "The Ultimate Athlete." Check out some of the moments from the competition in the following photos from this year's big-hit event.

Stay tuned for our wrap up video and interviews with the athletes.
The Baseball Challenge
Athletes started their run through the course at the baseball challenge.

Here we see Doyle Tonneson of HUMANFITPROJECT throwing some heat.
The Basketball Challenge
Johnny Johnson, a US Coast Guard Reservist and HUMANFITPROJECT athlete drove over three hours just to compete in the Ultimate Athlete event. Here he is lined-up perfectly during the basketball three-point challenge.
The Football Challenge
HUMANFITPROJECT athlete Abraham Cruz is a fitness model and entrepreneur, even with his 24/7 work schedule, Abe still took the time to fly out to Vegas to give the course a run-through. Here we see him making the football combine look like a breeze with his textbook quarterback form.
The Rhino Course
The tire pull was the grand finale to the brutal Rhino course. Here we see an unidentified athlete giving it his all and finishing strong.
The Rhino Obstacle Course
The Rhino course was the very last challenge, and at this point, many of the athletes were completely exhausted. Here's a competitors view before running the "gauntlet".
The Rhino Course Monkey Bars
Nearly every athlete at this year's Ultimate Athlete event had failed their first attempt at the vertical monkey bars. Only the athletes with incredible upper body and grip strength made their mark at this part of the challenge. Here's an unidentified athlete with his best orangutan impression.
Jamie Varner Took on Ultimate Athlete
Among the athletes who ran the course was former World Extreme Cagefighting (WEC) lightweight champion and Body Fortress athlete Jamie Varner.
The Gillette Recovery Lounge was the place to be with Bodybuilding.com's Lauren Abraham working the mic and conducting interviews. Here she is with HUMANFITPROJECT athlete Johnny Johnson.
Hard Work and Dedication
Jason Martuscello represented Men's Fitness at this year’s Ultimate Athlete event and was one of our success stories from last year after he lost more than 110 pounds and turned his life around. Martuscello was also recently named a HUMANFITPROJECT athlete. Way to go, Jason!
Athletes spent plenty of time hanging around the Men's Fitness booth. Men's Fitness associate editor Mike Simone and Bodybuilding.com's Lauren Abraham took some time for a pre-event photo-op.
Winners of this year's event didn't just get the cash, they also scored a solid new timepiece courtesy of Jorg Gray.
