Now that Guy Ritchie is finished with Sherlock Holmes, he has his eyes on another legendary fiction character: King Arthur.
In Ritchie's King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, Charlie Hunnam (Sons of Anarchy, Pacific Rim) stars as the titular hero, who fights for his rightful throne stolen from him by his sinister uncle Vortigern (Jude Law).
Check out the trailer below, which features plenty of high-stakes action, a star-studded cast (including Djimon Honsou, Eric Bana, and Game of Thrones' Aiden Gillen), and, of course, Led Zeppelin's "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You":
Legend of the Sword is far from the first movie to be based on Arthurian legend, but it's been a while, at least by Hollywood standards—the last film, simply titled King Arthur, released in 2004 to negative reviews and an underwhelming box office performance. Legend of the Sword is a vastly different intepretation of the legend, as it goes for high fantasy and supernatural elements as opposed to historical accuracy like the 2004 film.
King Arthur: Legend of the Sword will release nationwide on May 12, 2017.
