The most recent, and final, trailer for Universal's new spy film Atomic Blonde just dropped—and while it's plenty thrilling, there are no surprises here: Mostly Charlize Theron kicking lots of ass.
Theron plays badass MI-6 agent Lorraine Broughton, the British Secret Intelligence Service's secret weapon who attempts to capture a double agent in Berlin. For Theron it represents a new and inarguably successful string of action roles: She wowed as the steely Imperator Furiosa in Mad Max: Fury Road—which won six Oscars on 10 nominations—and earned plaudits for her role as the icy villain Cipher in Fate of the Furious. It didn't hurt that both movies raked in huge takes at the box office, earning $379 million and $1.2 billion worldwide, respectively.
So, Theron as Bond? Why the hell not?
Atomic Blonde also stars James McAvoy (Split), John Goodman (Kong: Skull Island), and Eddie Marsan (Ray Donovan). It's directed by David Leitch, who is also directing the new Deadpool sequel, and hits theaters July 28.
