Even intergalactic superheroes—or, at the very least, the actors who play them—have childhood heroes of their own.

Chris Pratt, who plays Peter Quill (a.k.a. Star-Lord) in the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, is no exception. His hero?

None other than the insanely jacked, badass Vietnam War veteran John Rambo (made famous by the equally badass Sylvester Stallone, who also has a cameo in Guardians 2).

During Pratt's appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers on Wednesday, May 3, the pair discussed Kurt Russell and Stallone's Tango and Cash reunion in the second Guardians film. The two 1980's icons apparently had a huge influence on Pratt's childhood, but the Rambo films made the greatest impact.

"That made me who I am today, I think," Pratt said during the interview. While growing up, Pratt even had a survival knife similar to the one used in the films, complete with a compass, waterproof matches, and a fish hook with line. Oh, and a sewing kit, just in case he cut his arm like Rambo did in First Blood

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, directed by James Gunn and starring Pratt, Stallone, Russell, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Zoe Saldana, Bradley Cooper, Michael Rooker, and Karen Gillan, will be released on May 5, 2017.
