Welcome to the club, Naomie Harris—the Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson movie club, that is.
Harris will co-star alongside Johnson in Rampage, a monster movie based on the ‘80s video game, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The Rock took to Instagram yesterday to welcome Harris to the cast, writing, "Welcome to the family, let's have some fun and bring home that OSCAR!":
Can't wait to light up the screen with this woman @naomieharris Gorgeous, insanely talented (just nabbed her OSCAR nom for BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS in MOONLIGHT), and ready to bring the bad assery to her fierce, intelligent character. Goal is to raise the bar in the cool & massive monster genre. Not one, not two, but THREE GIGANTIC RAMPAGING MONSTERS.. pissed and hungry.. like me when I'm working out. World ain't saving itself, so thankfully, we now have our secret weapon. Welcome to the family, let's have some fun and bring home that OSCAR! #OneAndOnlyNaomieHarris #AndSomeBigBrownBaldTattooedMan #RAMPAGE ampaging starts in April....
Plot details are being kept under wraps, but as in the game, the film will feature three creatures—a Godzilla-like lizard, a King Kong-like gorilla, and a werewolf—who run amok, destroying North American cities and landmarks. Harris will play a geneticist alongside Johnson, who will presumably do his best to once again save the world from imminent destruction.
Harris should have no problem with the action elements of the film—she kicked major ass as the classic James Bond character Eve Moneypenny in both Skyfall and Spectre alongside Daniel Craig.
Rampage, directed by Brad Peyton—who helmed Johnson's San Andreas—will be released on April 20, 2018.
Oh, and for those of you who don't remember the classic game, here's a look at the original Rampage:
