Exclusive Video: 60 Seconds with Norman Reedus

The Walking Dead star reveals the craziest gift a fan has ever given him. Plus, his favorite ways to dispose of zombies.

To call The Walking Dead the most popular show on television would be a gross understatement—the megahit attracts nearly 20 million sets of eyeballs an episode...that's NFL-level viewership, folks. Even more popular than the show itself is star Norman Reedus, who plays fan-favorite Daryl Dixon. There's actually a T-shirt out there emblazoned with the rallying cry, "If Daryl Dies, We Riot"—Walking Dead writers, you have been warned. With a passionate fanbase comes impassioned gifts—like crossbows and a Japanese longbow—but the craziest thing Norman Reedus has ever received is...well...you'll have to watch the video to find out.

Also in this exclusive video from his Men's Fitness cover shoot, Reedus reveals his favorite methods for dispatching Walkers (warning: gory zombie footage from the hit TV show is not for the faint of heart).

Behind the Scenes of the Norman Reedus Cover Shoot

Reedus calls the current season (his fourth) the "best season so far." And while them are fightin' words, it's not empty hyperbole. The showrunners and actors have struck the right balance of carnage and character development. "The writing is really good, and we've had four years to work on these characters," he says. "[Daryl] is starting to develop into somebody he can be proud of. He doesn't really need these people, he can hunt and track his own food and protect himself. But having personal relationships with other people is something he wouldn't have had if [the zombie apocalypse] didn't go down. I think he's starting to find things to stand for, findng his sense of self for the first time through these people. I think that makes him very interesting."

The Walking Dead airs on Sundays at 9 on AMC. The new issue of Men's Fitness—with Norman Reedus on the cover—is out on newsstands now.
