The table is set for war.

The premiere episode of Season 7 of Game of Thrones started out with a bang and ended with a quiet moment, but underneath it all, one thing was clear: The War of the Five Kings is about to reach a fiery conclusion.

With only 13 episodes remaining over two final seasons, showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss are bringing their far-flung characters closer and closer together. The first episode teased the numerous meetings to come between characters as Jon Snow (Kit Harington), Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke), and Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) built their armies and took stock of their enemies.

According to the synopsis for the second episode, titled “Stormborn,” Daenerys (Clarke) will receive an unexpected visitor, while Jon (Harington) faces a revolt. Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) plans the conquest of Westeros—his former home.
