On Thursday night, before the Cleveland Cavaliers took on the Golden State Warriors in Game 1 of the NBA Finals, Jimmy Kimmel had funnyman (and Men's Fitness cover star) Kevin Hart come on the show promoting his new memoir, I Can’t Make This Up: Life Lessons.

The memoir is a look at how the Hollywood actor, comedian, and writer has used the setbacks he’s experienced in life—which range from growing up with a father battling addiction to his worst comedy fails—to fuel his drive to succeed.

Thursday night, Hart told Kimmel on Jimmy Kimmel Live! a few more stories from his book, but none were funnier than when he talked about the great lengths he took to try out for his high school basketball team—which he made, by the way:

Kimmel put Hart's "four years of varsity basketball" to the test by challenging the four-time NBA All-Star Celebrity MVP  to an epic three-point challenge. Did he make it?:

Hart also shared a story about how he pissed off Houston Rockets star player James Harden at a Philadelphia 76ers game, indirectly igniting Harden and causing his team to lose:

On the show, Kimmel released his fifth edition of “Mean Tweets: NBA Edition.” Check it out below:
