King Kong isn’t the only monster in the jungle.
The newest trailer for Kong: Skull Island has hit, showing off the gigantic Kong and a bit more about the plot of the film, which involves a group of military personnel and scientists—including Tom Hiddleston, Samuel L. Jackson, Academy Award-winner Brie Larson, John Goodman, Corey Hawkins, and Toby Kebbell—dropping onto the island to explore its mysterious inhabitants.
Some of those inhabitants, of course, resemble terrifying demonic hellbeasts. Another resembles a witty John C. Reilly, who has a huge beard and looks like he’s been on the island for a long time. “Kong? He’s king around here,” he tells the stranded heroes, before hinting at the “devils” that live below the island. And that’s when the real fun begins.
Director Jordan Vogt-Roberts has previously said that he’s not trying to keep Kong hidden away from people until the movie is released—call it the reverse Jaws rule—and this trailer proves it. Kong looks massive and fearsome—as do the other monsters that are seen chasing the heroes across the island.
The movie has an Apocalypse Now feel, with ‘70s era military uniforms, helicopters heading into the jungle, and plenty of explosions—napalm anyone?—burning the jungle down. The awesome new posters for the film show off the massive Kong, too:

The film studio might be planning on a Godzilla vs. King Kong film down the line, so chances are Kong will survive this battle—but from the looks of the trailer, it won’t be easy.
Kong: Skull Island, directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts and starring Hiddleston, Larson, Jackson, Goodman, Shea Whigham, John C. Reilly, Jing Tian, and Tom Wilkinson, will be released on March 10, 2017.
