Superhero Luke Cage is ready to take on the streets of Harlem—and all of your video screens—this September.
Cage's story began in 1972, when the super-strong, bulletproof superhero was launched into the Marvel world with his own comic bok series Luke Cage: Hero for Hire. Now, Cage is back in action in this updated remake.
Cage (Mike Colter) is also a familiar face for fans of Marvel's other Netflix series, since he's previously appeared in Jessica Jones. Along with Jones and Daredevil, Luke Cage marks the third installment of the Marvel–Netflix partnership, which will culiminate in a miniseries titled The Defenders.
The bulletproof powerhouse may not have asked to become New York's new gaurdian, but he certainly will rise to the challenge.
The full series, starring Mike Colter, Mahershala Ali, and Alfre Woodard, will air on Netflix starting September 30.
