The Death Star will be in range in less than a month.
Disney has released a final TV spot for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story in what is likely our last look at the scrappy heroes until the movie's December premiere.
Some of the scenes are familiar enough—Chirrut Imwe (Donnie Yen) and Baze Malbus (Wen Jiang) laying the smackdown on some Stormtroopers, Jyn Erso's "Rebellions are built on hope" refrain—but we do see enough to keep us on our toes for new Star Wars tidbits. Keen-eyed observers will note that the newly introduced U-Wing gets some additional screentime in the battle on the tropical planet Scarif (look for it around 0:16), and that one of the Imperial walkers has an open cargo hatch (it's an AT-ACT). Those walkers are also more vulnerable, it seems: While AT-ATs seemed to shrug off every form of ordinance in The Empire Strikes Back, one of the Imperial walkers in this trailer seems to recoil from a guided missile to the cockpit.
And around 0:25, we see a shot of Erso sprinting through the battlefield clutching what looks like the Star Wars version of a disk drive in her left hand—which very well might contain those Death Star plans her motley team needs to steal.
One star we don't see? Darth Vader, who looms large (albeit briefly) in the second trailer. We'll have to wait until the movie's premiere to see him once again.
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, directed by Godzilla director Gareth Edwards and starring Jones, Yen, Luna, Whitaker, Mendelsohn, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk, and Riz Ahmed, hits theaters on December 16.
