R. Lee Ermey
As Gunny Sergeant Hartman in the 1987 classic Full Metal Jacket, R. Lee Ermey offered the best advice any guy can ever receive: "Sound off like you got a pair!" But it wasn't purely good acting that landed Emery the iconic role. The tougher-than-a-two-dollar-steak hellraiser spent 11 years in the U.S. Marine Corps before retiring due to injuries received during his military tours. Since launching his acting career in the late '70s, Emery has appeared in over 60 films in addition to hosting the popular History Channel documentary series Mail Call. The hard-edged Ermey even served a stint as the first celebrity spokesperson for Glock firearms.
Badass Quote: "I firmly believe that you live and learn, and if you don't learn from past mistakes, then you need to be drug out and shot."
