Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Men's Fitness October 2016 cover star Kevin Hart, and the rest of the Jumanji cast are adding some new names to their jungle expedition—and, in the process, revealing some key details about the plot of the upcoming film.
Johnson took to social media to reveal that four young actors are joining the cast—Madison Iseman, Ser’Darius Blain, Alex Wolff, and Morgan Turner—giving some hints to the plot of the film in the process:

As in the the 1995 original movie, the 2016 "continuation" (it's essentially a sequel) follows four teens in detention who get sucked into the Jumanji game—and then take the avatar form of the four adult cast members: Johnson, Hart, Karen Gillan, and Jack Black. The reedy Wolff, as the character Spencer, will take the form of Johnson’s jacked explorer, Dr. Smolder Bravestone, in the game, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Initially, the slightly parodic character names in the sequel—Smolder Bravestone, Moose Finbar (Hart), Ruby Roundhouse (Gillan), and Professor Shelly Oberon (Black)—didn't seem to add up with the childlike wonder of the original. But the new wrinkle that the teens will be inhabiting the game's characters, rather than having them exist in real life, updates the central theme of the movie without copying it outright.
Johnson posted a video to social media showing the stars getting ready to film in the jungle, and it looks like each of the actors are enjoying their surroundings while shooting on-location in Hawaii:
We're in the raining #JumanjiJungle baby! Jack Black's "Gonna watch you bleeeed" at the end kills me.Phenomenal first week of shooting with my extremely talented and funny co-stars @kevinhart4real, @karengillanofficial and our resident rock and roller Jack Black! We've been battling the jungle elements daily and director Jake Kasdan and hard working boots on the ground film crew is raising the bar when it comes to delivering the goods. Makin' a good one for you over here in Hawaii and Jack's makin' em bleed. #OnLocation #Hawaii #Jumanji
Hart got in on the action too, posting a video of Johnson driving by in a car, prompting the superstar funnyman to do his best impression of the highest-paid actor in the world:
The funnyman also confirmed that Nick Jonas—who told Men's Fitness he gets ripped with this workout—will be in the film, posting a photo of himself with his “Jumanji brother” on social media:
Jumanji opens in theaters July 28th, 2017.
