Survey Results Reveal Real Men of 2012

AskMen’s 2012 Great Male Survey gives insight into the professional, social and sex lives of men around the world.

You’d vote for George Clooney for U.S. President, think you can beat Mitt Romney in a fistfight, and loyalty is the most important part of choosing a girlfriend. This is just the tip of the iceberg of the complex lives and minds of real men today, as revealed in AskMen’s 2012 Great Male Survey.

When it comes to sex, most men prefer to walk right up to a woman he’s interested in, but to find a woman with relationship potential, he’d rather go through a mutual friend. And while more than half of men are somewhat or completely satisfied with their sex lives, 22 percent reported no sex life at all, with a small number admitting they've paid for much-needed sexual release.

But what makes real men? For 56 percent, it’s the drink that you order. For others, it’s colorful socks or vintage glasses frames to express their personality and unique style.

Real men also think about their health, eating less fast food than last year (58 percent), and being bold enough to think they can complete a marathon sometime in their life. They also tend to work out alone (70 percent), most likely on their abs because many think that’s what women find the most attractive.

Still, when it comes down to it, more than half believe that real men are great fathers and husbands who take care of their family. They are also sick of hearing about Justin Bieber and Kim Kardashian.
