After Rich Froning grabbed his third Fittest Man on Earth title in July, fellow American Brian Shaw officially became the World's Strongest Man for the second time, in August. It was a satisfying return to the mountaintop for Shaw, who won the competition in 2011 but turned in a dismal fourth-place finish in 2012, allowing for the massive Lithuanian Zydrunas Savickas to reclaim his title (he also won in '09 and '10.) Shaw put up a solid second-place finish in the truck pull, one of the most insane mainstays of WSM but made big strides by winning the yoke walk and deadlift events. His max deadlift: 979 pounds (445kg). You can match that, right?
