Your girlfriend wouldn't let go of 50 Shades of Grey for months. And although you never read the book, it still managed to have a huge impact on your life...your sex life specifically. All of a sudden, your girlfriend wanted to do kinky things that she and her friends had read about--and you have Christian Grey to thank for that. Women around the world were fawning over this fictional character who was everything you wanted to be and more: handsome, business-savvy, tall, broad-shouldered, and charming. On top of that, he scored a hot chick who will do anything he wants sexually. Seriously...how?!
If you've somehow avoided the 50 Shades craze, Christian Grey is the man who introduced the sexually inexperienced main character Anastasia Steele to BDSM. While you might not have gone as far as he did, your sex life became a bit more interesting once your girlfriend finally put the book down.
Then things died down a bit. She finished the 50 Shades trilogy, and your sex life went back to normal. Well, it's about to change...again. Last year, the series' author, E.L. James, announced that there would be a film based on 50 Shades of Grey, and this week she finally announced who would play its leading characters. Men's Fitness cover alum Charlie Hunnam (Sons of Anarchy) will be taking on the role of the dominant (Christian), and Dakota Johnson will play his submissive (Ana). Basically, Charlie Hunnam gets to be the man we've fantasized about being—hot, successful, desired by all women, and...adventurous in the bedroom (you know you want to try it, just once).
Hunnam also happens to be in amazing shape. The soon-to-be sex god told Men's Fitness in 2010 that it isn't just his physical appearance that keeps him in the gym. "The benefit of working out is 90% mental and 10% physical,” he said. "I feel better—like I have more energy. But the mental side is an extraordinary benefit. I’m happier, more confident, and more positive when I work out. And I feel like I’m a better actor because of the clarity it gives me.”
You might want to start preparing, mentally and physically, because girlfriends around the globe will be dragging men to see this film. Watch closely—you might learn a thing or two.
