In an appearance on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon Wednesday night, the star of the June 2016 issue of Men's Fitness revealed a terrible hairstyle he once rocked at art kid camp:

"How did you get from this"—referencing the goofy-haired, younger Efron—"to this?" pointing to his muscle-bound pic on the cover of the new Men's Fitness issue.

"I was at a summer camp for the arts," Efron said. "I think I lied about my age to get in. I was actually an eighth grader and they only let in juniors and seniors.... It was just me and a bunch of a lot older girls and they crimped my hair and I thought I was awesome.

"Anything they told me, I just said, 'Yes,' Efron said. "That sounds bad, but it was true."

So Fallon, of course, took took the joke one step further: He pulled out crimped wigs for himself and the Baywatch star and the two took turns admiring the embarrassing cut:

Fallon was, of course, more than deferential to the young actor. Before Efron came out on the stage, Fallon pulled up the magazine and joked that Efron is his “twin brother—we look exactly the same.”

"You beat me out for the cover," Fallon said.

In another segment, Fallon and Efron played the classic card game “War,” but with a twist: The loser of each hand got a pint of water in the face, and whoever won got to blast the other with a water cannon. As the battle escalated, Efron got so soaked that Fallon knocked off Efron's wig.

Someone from the crowd screamed “Take your shirt off!” (presumably to Efron). Fallon jumped in and shouted, “No, no! I can’t!”

For the final round, Fallon flipped an ace to Zac Efron's king—so he shot the Baywatch star with a water cannon.

Efron got drenched, but still made it good:
