At just 6.7 ounces, the adiZero Feather 2 is one of the lightest everyday running sneakers out there. Built with a toe-to-heel SprintFrame and a full SprintWeb upper for lightweight support, this shoe is a stellar example of lightweight durability.
On the Road
The mesh construction not only drastically cuts down on the weight, but it really helps to keep your feet cool as you’re running. Running around NYC in the middle of a heat wave, a blast of air to your wheels feels great each time you take a stride.
Technically, they performed quite well. You can feel the extra resistance throughout the entirety of your foot, and, unlike some other ultra-lightweight running shoes, these kicks feature a stiffer plate on the underside of the shoe. It was a refreshing difference, one that seemed to give a little bit of extra push in the latter stages of the run.
In the Gym
If you’ve been paying attention, you know that the MF team highly recommends lifting in minimalist sneakers. That being said, these shoes stood up quite well to a grueling deadlift session. That stiff plate we mentioned earlier really helped—it didn’t feel much different from lifting in a pair of Vibram’s Five-Fingers.
They performed well in agility exercises, as well, deftly gripping the gym floor and keeping your feet locked in place.
Sleek and aggressive with a bit of flash, these shoes will subtly turn the heads of athletes no matter where you’re training. Top of the charts in terms of aesthetic appeal.
One week and they’ve withstood a serious pounding on the NYC streets. Can’t imagine they’ll fall apart anytime soon.
If you’re a gym rat who likes to get out and run, this one’s a no-brainer.
