Choose the Shoes for the U.S. Open

Vote for the shoes you want Adidas athletes to wear during the U.S. Open.

Adidas-sponsored tennis athletes Jack Sock, Rhyne Williams, and Bjorn Fratangelo have each designed two pairs of custom miadidas tennis shoes—and it’s up to you to decide which pair they’ll wear at the U.S. Open. Fans can vote through Aug. 24 by following @adidastennis and using #miadidasNYC along with the name of their favorite shoe.

So, which athletes are onboard, and what kind of kicks are in the running? Let’s take a look…

Jack Sock, the 2011 U.S. Open mixed doubles champion who’s ranked in the top 100 in the ATP tour, will be wearing the adizero Feather 2.0 in one of two color combos: A red design he calls “Showtime” is a testament to his Nebraska Cornhusker pride, while a blue “Jsizzle” design represents the pressure and spotlight that playing on the big stage brings.

Rhyne Williams is ranked 114 in the ATP tour and will also sport the adizero Feather 2.0. Williams’ “VFL,” which stands for “Vols for Life,” is a shoe that reflects his University of Tennessee pride. The red, white, and blue “Merica” is a tribute to his fellow U.S. players.

Bjorn Fratangelo, 2011’s junior French Open champ, won his first professional title in 2013 and will wear the Barricade 8. Fratangelo’s “Pittsburgh” represents the city where he was born and raised. His red, white, and blue “New York” is a nod to the Big Apple.

Want shoes to rep your city or favorite sports team? Design your own adizero Feather 2.0 at adidas.com and look out for the customizable Barricade 8 coming in September.
