What if your ski helmet could tell you when you've had one hit to many? POC is looking to bring the latest in smart tech to the extreme sports world with the recent release of the Skull Orbic Comp H.I. MIPS, a helmet decked out with stress sensors that track its impact history.
Press a little button on the back and it will light up either green or red. If the helmet is still in good shape it'll go green, but if you've smashed your head into one too many pine trees, it'll go red letting you know it's time to replace your gear.
No surprise this innovative tech comes at the rather steep price of $480, but the pros of knowing when your helmet is next to useless could outweigh the cons of permanent brain damage.
