Jozy Altidore, Forward

Club Team: AZ Alkmaar (Netherlands)

6’ 1’’ | 175 lbs

Jozy Altidore, 22, from New Jersey, is a high-scoring forward on Team USA. He plays for AZ Alkmaar in the Netherlands but spent much of the past few years bouncing around on loan to club teams in Spain, Turkey, and England. Switching teams so frequently has actually played to Altidore’s benefit, forcing him to grow into his career quickly. He’s been exposed to multiple styles of play, learning to analyze gaps in defense to capitalize on goal. He scored a hat trick in 2009 against Trinidad & Tobago, adding the 3-0 game outcome to his tally, and becoming the youngest player in U.S. Men’s National Team history to do so.
