There’s still no official word as to when—or if—Pittsburgh Steelers’ quarterback Ben Roethlisberger will be back. In last night’s game against the Kansan City Chiefs, he sustained an intense right shoulder injury in the third quarter and hit the locker room immediately.

Reports say the sack by Kansas City Chiefs’ linebacker Justin Houston separated Roethlisberger’s shoulder, though fans are still awaiting an official doctor’s verdict as to whether or not he can be reinserted into the lineup.

Houston's hit didn't appear overly hard but Roethlisberger went down awkwardly on his right arm. Steelers’ fans at Heinz Field freaked as their best player left the field. QB Byron Leftwich stepped up and completed only 7 of 14 passes for 73 yards. Leftwich hasn't appeared in a regular season game since January 2, 2011, when he replaced Roethlisberger against the Cleveland Browns.

At the whistle, the game was tied at 13-13. In overtime, the Steelers trounced the Chiefs 16-13. But despite the win, only time will tell Big Ben's football fate. Looks like the Steelers' will just have to hang tight.
