Here’s what we know about top NFL draft prospect Jadeveon Clowney: Physically, he is a beast. At 6' 5¼" inches and 266 pounds, Clowney clocked an official 4.53 seconds in the 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine Monday, proving again that he is probably the most physically-gifted athlete in the football draft and locking in on becoming a No. 1 draft choice.
Considering that defensive ends run an average of 4.77 in the 40, and factoring in Clowney’s size, 83-inch wingspan, and incredible pass rush abilities, he’s now one of the fastest athletes in the draft. Not just the fastest defensive linemen, one of the fastest athletes. Johnny Manziel, who is listed at 6’1", 210 pounds, clocked 4.68. Kent State running back Dri Archer (5’8", 174 pounds) ran 4.26, just off Chris Johnson’s combine record of 4.24. Check out this Vine video that matches Clowney’s run against Johnny Football.
