It should be no surprise that Whistler/Blackcomb, with its 8,200 acres of skiable terrain, wins for best backcountry. It gets slammed with almost 500 inches of snow every year, and has more than 200 runs, plus 16 bowls, five parks, and endless wilderness ripe for exploration. You can buy a one-way lift ticket and head in as far as you can go. From the top, there’s only one way to get down. Or hike beyond Blackcomb Glacier and take a horseshoe-shaped path down into Whistler itself to hit some of the best powder lines in North America.
