If you're hosting a holiday party, don't get stuck behind the bar all night mixing fancy drinks for thirsty guests. Instead, try these delicious party drinks—they're not only festive but also incredibly easy to make. They don't require labor-intensive muddling, and they contain relatively basic ingredients—stuff you should already have on hand.

Guinness Float

This is a twist on the traditional ice-cream float. It calls for the rich Irish Stout instead of root beer, retaining its creamy richness without the tooth-aching sweetness of soda.

Ingredients:
3 scoops vanilla ice cream
1 bottle Guinness stout

To Make:
[1] Put the ice cream into a large beer mug.

[2] Pour the Guinness carefully over the ice cream. Wait for the cascade to stop, then fill to the top. If you'd prefer a beer shake, mix the ingredients together in a blender.

[3] Serve.

Ultimate Hot Chocolate

This is neither as hot nor as thick as the original, so it's a lot more pleasant to drink. It can be made ahead of time and kept in a thermos or warm-beverage server, so you'll actually have a chance to talk to your guests.

Ingredients:
1/2 tbsp dark chocolate baking cocoa
1/2 tbsp sugar or calorie-free sugar substitute
1 cup milk, warmed to taste
1/2 ounces vanilla vodka
Whipped cream

To Make:
[1] Stir cocoa and sugar or sugar substitute into milk. Mix well.

[2] Add vodka.

[3] Top with whipped cream.

[4] Serve.
