Low-Cal Whiskey Cocktails

You’ve grown up—so should what’s in your glass.

Put down that light beer—you’ve graduated from your frat boy days, and it’s time for your drink of choice to do the same. Our suggestion? Whiskey. The quintessential man’s drink, it can be enjoyed neat (with a dash of water to open up the flavor), on the rocks, or in a simple cocktail, like the two below. To help you refine your pallet, we’re presenting two simple drinks that’ll be sure to impress you and your buddies.

If you want it on the rocks, we’ve got no better suggestion than Wild Turkey’s forthcoming (it's out in September) small batch whiskey Forgiven, created by the accidental mixing of a rare rye with an aged bourbon. As far as they tell us, it was considered a disaster until their first sips—and then all was Forgiven. After trying it ourselves, we're inclined to agree.

Chocolate Almond Cocktail

  • 1 ½ oz ZICO Chocolate
  • 1 oz Amaretto 
  • 1 ½ oz Wild Turkey 81

Combine all ingredients in a highball glass with ice, and gently stir to combine.
 

Banana Latte Cocktail

  • 3 oz ZICO Latte
  • 1 oz banana liqueur
  • 1 oz Wild Turkey 81
  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters

193 calories

Shake ingredients together and serve in high-ball glass. Garnish with banana slices.
