The four 17th Street BBQ restaurants in Illinois are home to legendary pitmaster Mike Mills, world champion of Food Network’s “Best in Smoke” barbecue competition and recent inductee into the National Barbecue Hall of Fame. Called “the best ribs in the U.S.” by Bon Appetit, a rack is the way to go at Mills’ spots (though the sliders are pretty killer, too).
