Started in 1900 as a local meat market, Kreuz has become one of the most beloved BBQ joints in Hill Country. Different than many other spots, in that they don’t offer sauces—or forks—this shrine to the art of barbecuing offers up soft-as-butter brisket, black-pepper coated pork ribs, and swoon-worthy jalapeño-cheese sausage in an oversized barn on the edge of town.
