QUALITY MEAT

“Pasture raised beef—which can still be finished on organic grain and have a delicious, balanced rich flavor—is low in Omega 6 fatty acids and high in Omega 3 fatty acids, which are important to so many aspects of our health, including joint function,” says Mullen. “Conventionally raised feedlot beef, however, is the inverse; high in Omega 6 fatty acids and low in Omega 3 fatty acids. Not to mention, the flavor is inferior and the quality of life of the animal is deplorable. It makes the choice pretty easy; one is relatively flavorless, comes from an animal that has suffered, and is unhealthy. The other, when eaten in moderation, tastes amazing, comes from an animal that is treated humanely and never receives artificial hormones or antibiotics, and is good for us.”
