McDonald's is Introducing a "Cleaner" McNugget—that Doesn't Contain 32 Ingredients

The world's most famous chicken nugget is undergoing a health transformation.

Fast food is certainly speedy. But simple? Not quite.

One singular McNugget—McDonald's golden child—contains 32 ingredients. Are you shocked it's not just chicken?

Well, you can find some solace in knowing white boneless chicken is the first ingredient, followed by "Water, Food Starch-Modified, Salt, Seasoning (Autolyzed Yeast Extract, Salt, Wheat Starch, Natural Flavoring [Botanical Source], Safflower Oil, Dextrose, Citric Acid), Sodium Phosphates, Natural Flavor (Botanical Source)..." and so on, according to McDonald's' nutritional information.

But things are changing, according to a news report from Quartz. The McNugget is evolving.

According to Quartz, McDonald's started testing its cleaner chicken nugget—made with no artificial flavors, colors, or preservatives—last March in 140 of its restaurants in Oregon and Southwest Washington.
