NBA 2K15 adds former Baylor star Isaiah Austin

A rare condition ended his playing career, but the 21-year-old gets his own character in the video game.

It was certainly a tragedy for Isaiah Austin when the former Baylor star learned that a medical condition would cut his basketball career short before he could ever suit up in the pros. But this, we might say, is pretty cool.

Austin was ceremoniously added to the 2014 NBA Draft by commissioner Adam Silver. Marfan syndrome, a genetic disorder of human connective tissue, forced Austin to end his career before it really started. Now, NBA 2K15 has added Austin as a character in its game, and the 21-year-old was touched by the gesture.

@isaiahaustin w/ special shout-out to @2k fans about picking him up in #NBA2K15
