A New Skinny Melo

The Knicks forward is following in LeBron James' weight-loss footsteps.

Looks like superstar Carmelo Anthony is following an NBA trend.

The 5-year, $124-million-dollar New York Knicks forward is preparing for the upcoming NBA season by cutting his current weight to his rookie Denver Nuggets weight of 230 pounds. Anthony was listed at 240 pounds this past NBA season.

The NY Post reported Anthony’s weight loss as a step into bettering Phil Jackson’s triangle offense.

“He wants to be as athletic as he was when he was a rookie,” The Post reported. “Plus he wants to be a facilitator in the triangle and speed will help that.”

The Knicks forward showed us his much slimmer bod by posting a photo on Instagram captioned “Gran sesion de entrenamiento do hoy,” in English meaning, “Great training session today.” Well, it looks like his training sessions are paying off.

Returning Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James previously showed off the results of his new no-carb diet with a similar Instagram photo. LeBron's new, slimmer physique seems to have Melo following in his footsteps. Here's a look at the guys side-by-side:
