GGG Knocks Out Rubio in Second Round

Golovkin routs the Mexican in one-sided beatdown.

Gennady Golovkin (31-0, 28 KOs) defended his WBA Super and IBO middleweight titles against in clinical fashion when he knocked out Marco Antonio Rubio (59-7-1, 51KOs) at the StubHub Center in Carson, California.

Golovkin once again exhibited the concussive power of his hands in the second right. A right/left uppercut combo hurt Rubio and then looping over hand left from GGG that caught the Mexican near the top of his head. Then it was game over. The win over Rubio was GGG’s 12th defense of his title and it was his 18th consecutive knockout.
