In a survey on U.K. Facebook’s Clothes Show TV, a whopping 89% of women shown pics of guys in <a href="http://www.mensfitness.com/topics/fashion"target=_blank>boxers</a> and briefs choose boxers as their preferred male underwear. Though, what we found most interesting was the term Brits use for briefs: “budgie smugglers.” Of all the creatures in the animal kingdom—a small bird? It’s cool, we don’t judge.
It’s been drilled into your head to get biannual teeth cleanings from your dentist, or else. But University of Michigan researchers found that, while high-risk patients who <a href="http://www.mensfitness.com/topics/health"target=_blank>smoke</a>, have diabetes or a family history of gum disease did benefit from twice-annual cleanings, healthier, low-risk patients needed only one. Still, “Dentists may recognize symptoms of diseases that often manifest as signs inside the mouth,” says the Academy of General Dentistry’s John Comisi, D.D.S.
People 55 and older who lose many of their natural teeth also show significant memory loss, the European Journal of Oral Sciences reports. What’s the connection? Gum infections that can cause tooth loss can also cause inflammation, which could then lead to nerve-tissue death, and finally, memory loss.
What's Up in the Hair: What Chicks Think of Your Cut
Which men’s hairstyles do women find most attractive—and what do those styles tell them about us? Wahl Clipper and Opinion Research Corp. asked and learned that one in three women picked the side part as their fave (calling guys who wear it “suave” and “distinguished”), followed by the fade cut (“trustworthy” and “reliable”). Pick one and you’ll be on trend either way: “We’re seeing a move to more classic styles with shorter sides and a little length on the top,” says Wahl marketing honcho Steve Yde. “It’s a look that feels very fresh.” And you knew the short, spiky thing was over (at least, we hope you did), but if you decided to rock it anyway, that’s about right: Women associate it with rebelliousness.
