Here at Men’s Fitness, we're always stoked to hear about what Converse has in the pipeline. Because when the world’s most classic sneaker teams up with a designer brand and offers just the right fashion mix for us, we find ourselves collecting each line like we did Pokémon cards as kids. The latest Converse release: A collection made in collaboration with French fashion house Maison Martin Margiela.
At first glance, these sneakers may look like your typical white Converse, but that would hardly make them worth their $200 price tag. What makes these shoes so special? They were hand-painted in Maison Martin Margiela’s iconic white paint. From the laces to the soles, every nook and cranny is covered in paint. As you wear the shoes, the paint gradually cracks, revealing the original color of the shoe (red, black, navy, or yellow) or a cool pattern.
These kicks are available now at Margiela stores, but they won’t be released globally until September 20. After that, shoppers will be able to get their hands on both the Chuck Taylor All Star and Jack Purcell silhouettes at select Converse retailers. However, these kicks are limited-edition, so if you want ‘em, get ‘em before they’re all gone!
