Have you ever been shocked to find out that someone’s real age was a lot older than you thought it was? That’s kind of how we feel about Timberland right now. Yesterday, the brand hosted a special event in Brooklyn, NY, celebrating its 40th anniversary. That’s right—that infamous yellow boot has been around for 40 years!
Instead of worrying whether its hairline was receding, Timberland celebrated in style with an event deemed "The Workshop." There, the brand showcased some of its iconic boots and apparel while the indie band Wild Nothing played some tunes. Needless to say, all birthday parties should be like this.
Even if you weren’t lucky enough to be invited to the bash, Timberland isn’t the type to leave anyone out. The company has also released a special 40th Anniversary LTD Collection, which will include upgraded versions of some of its classic boot styles. The Super Boot, World Hiker, and the six-inch Yellow Boots will now feature updated technology, like Gore-Tex lining, Vibram outsoles, and PrimaLoft insulation. They'll be released one style at a time during the next few months. While prices range from $220 to $260, there will only be 1,973 pairs of each style released, with numbers 1 and 1,973 being auctioned off to help support the Rainforest Alliance’s Sustainable Tourism program.
