Beware. Sipping sugar-heavy cocktails that come hand-in-hand with vacation will catch up with you—and trip up your fitness routine—if you’re not careful. But you don’t have to come back with a bulging waistline every time you slip out of the office for a long weekend.
Fitness expert and travel guru Rob Murgatroyd shows us how to avoid this in his latest Anywhere workout video shot exclusively for Men's Fitness in Cancun, Mexico. He created an ass-kicking (but simple!) workout in sand that's super beneficial for your body. “Sand workouts are a great way to build core strength because you're moving on uneven, unstable terrain—so your body works even harder to balance,” said Murgatroyd.
Check out his four simple, strength-building exercises mixed with cardio—all you need is a stretch of sand 50-100 yards long for the sprints—and then reward yourself with a well-deserved recovery drink from the bar. After all, you are on vacation.
