8 Alternative Ways to Get Muddy

Take a break from the typical adventure race and get even dirtier with some of America's coolest mud-soaked obstacle courses.
Crank up the intensity with this 5-6 mile course that boasts 25 of the biggest obstacles known to the mud run kingdom. Case in point: the Colossus, which stands 40 feet tall, combines an enormous skate-park style quarter pipe on the front with a ridiculously steep water slide on the back. Make it down and there is still plenty of mud, fire, and barbed wire to face. Race locations are chosen for their gnarly terrain, so you can also expect plenty of natural hurdles along the way. Refuel with beer and barbeque at the finish line. First place takes home a custom engraved trophy axe to hang on their wall and some kickass bragging rights.
