Tough Mudder's New Obstacles for 2014
Whether you’re one of 1.3 million Tough Mudder participants or getting ready for your first Mudder, these four new obstacles are sure to quench your thirst for thrill. In addition to revealing these four innovative obstacles, Tough Mudder has launched its Mudder Legion program, the official community of people who have completed multiple Tough Mudders. Check out what Tough Mudder has in store for 2014. And yes, there’s fire.
The objective of this obstacle is to scale the 12-foot high slanted wall, but you’ll need fellow Mudders to get over it since there's no rope. It may take a human chain of arms and legs to reach the other side, so camaraderie is key.
In a Tough Mudder first, spectators play a role in your obstacle success. For this one, you will need to walk across a balance beam while spectators try and knock you off using a huge swinging water buoy.
Cross a pit of too-deep-to-stand-in water using two rails that incline and decline across the water pit. You basically are doing dips except the bars are slippery, at angles, and your legs are in water. Good luck.
This obstacle is so tough that only members of Mudder Legion program (see next slide) are eligible to do it. Climb a cargo net to ascend a two-story high slide. Slide down Vesuvius feet-first through a wall of fire and into a pool of cold mud and water. Can you say adrenaline rush?
After completing one Tough Mudder, you are eligible to enter the Mudder Legion, the official community of multi-time Mudders. Legionnaires reap several rewards such as headbands representing how many courses they’ve done, access to Legionnaires’ Loop (a course extension), and an exclusive obstacle just for Mudder Legion members.
