Jungle Marathon - Floresta National de Tapajos, Amazon Rainforest, Brazil
Held in Brazil’s Amazon rainforest in October, Jungle Marathon offers two races to choose from: 63 miles in four stages, or 150 miles in six stages. Racers are required to carry food and provisions, and race officials provide bottled water only at checkpoints. Youʼll face all the hazards the jungle has to offer (think: swamps, anacondas, and poisonous plants). You'll sleep in strung-up hammock between stages, with the only distractions being questioning your sanity, your aching body, and the jungle wildlife. (junglemarathon.com)
