Running through Death Valley, CA, in July’s stifling heat that averages 120 degrees F is no jog in the sun. In fact, only 90 runners are allowed to compete. You’ll run through sand and cacti over 135 miles to Mt. Whitney, finishing with a grueling 8,000-foot ascent. You’ll be up against the world’s best runners, triatheletes, adventure racers, and mountaineers. Between improbable altitudes and heat stroke, you’ll think you’ve died and gone to hell.
