“My physical therapist takes no prisoners,” Meloni says. “He just beats me senseless: I’ll do 10 pullups with a wide grip, hold each for 10 seconds at the top, take 30 seconds’ rest, and then do another set with a slightly tighter grip, holding each for 10 seconds, for 10 reps. Then I’ll take an even narrower grip and do it again.”
