Q: My girlfriend says I should try yoga for my bad back. I’m willing to try anything, but twisting myself into a pretzel might not be the best move. Should I do it?
A: Yoga, when done correctly, is a great workout, but might not fix your back. First, figure out what’s causing your back pain.
“See an M.D. to find out if you’ve got anything serious going on,” says Jay Dicharry, director of biomechanics at Rebound Physical Therapy. “Then follow up with a physical therapist to work out your specific issues. Learn to properly stabilize your back as you move, then take those skills into yoga.” Namaste.Find Supplements to Fuel Your Training at GNC Live Well >>>
