It may be New Year's resolution time—or it might just be that your gym is always packed at 5 a.m. or 5 p.m.—but you can still get an amazing fat-burning workout. The answer: knowledge. Know your options and alternatives and you'll always be able to maximize your workout, no matter how busy.

The Perfect 30-Minute Workout

Trick No. 1: Pair a dumbbell exercise with a body-weight exercise.

Trick No. 2: Pair an upper-body exercise with a lower-body exercise.

Trick No. 3: Minimize (or eliminate altogether) your use of the bench, with a move like a dumbbell squat and press.
