Weekend One-Up: The Press and Pop Challenge

Build muscle, burn fat, and push yourself to the max with this upper and lower body fitness challenge.

Each week our fitness expert, CrossFit competitor and owner of New York City’s Reebok CrossFit 5th Ave, Nate Forster, lays out a quick workout that measures your level of strength, speed, power, endurance, and/or skill. Think you can “one-up” our guy? Get ready to throw down, and let’s see what you’ve got…

THIS WEEK'S CHALLENGE:
Complete seven rounds of five strict barbell presses and five burpees as fast as possible. 
*Use 95lbs. for the barbell presses. 

THE BENEFITS:
Strict barbell presses will remove any assistance from the lower body while performing the exercise - this will test absolute strength in the shoulders. Coupling the presses with burpees will tax the athletes cardiovascular system while also exhausting the upper body including the chest, shoulders, and triceps. This routine will improve overall strength and conditioning throughout the entire body.
