Over 100 women from around the world descended upon the MGM National Harbor in Oxon Hill, Maryland this weekend to compete in the Miss World 2016 pageant.

Stephanie del Valle of Puerto Rico edged out the competition, including runners-up from Indonesia and the Dominican Republic, to win the highly coveted crown.

The brown-eyed beauty—a college student at Pace University in New York City—speaks three languages and plans on taking her crown with her as she pursues a double major in law and communications.

At the pageant, del Valle accepted her Miss World crown dressed in a light pink Swarovski stone–covered Carlos Alberto gown, inspired by the color of Puerto Rico’s national flower, the hibiscus.
