The best course of nutritional readiness for preparing for this type of event is to get your body clean. In order to do this you will have to void all in take of grains and sugar. This will allow the body to operate efficiently and effectively during the training process.
Sugar Detox – eliminate all processed sugar from your diet. When you get a sweet tooth, don't deny your craving, feed it with a natural source of sugar. Natural sources of sugar include fruits and vegetables. Look for fruits that are higher on the Glycemic Index initially and then gradually choose fruits that are lower on the scale as the cravings become less and less. Fruit is still a good choice for anyone that is training hard for this event.
Grain Elimination – start by decreasing your in take of processed foods. If it isn’t real food do not eat it! Note: pasta is a processed food. Grain carbohydrates as a source of energy is a very poor choice. The old science of carb loading prior to a workout or event will only put the body in a position to crash. The less grain and processed food you intake the better. Note: corn is a grain not a vegetable
