I've always felt like people weren't aware of the fitness level of most hockey players. I never played the sport growing up, and I think like lots of others who don't have experience on the ice, it can become easy to overlook what isn't familiar to you.

But that said, imagine having to accelerate off of one leg, creating enough force to move quickly through space but with the precision to move around traffic, while avoiding a rink full of guys who can legally shove you into the boards, as hard as they can. I've always said that pro wrestlers needed to be bodybuilders, actors, and stunt men all at once. Well, hockey players have to be football players, soccer players, and speed skaters all at once.
